WARNING: This post is going be extremely cheesy
Monday evening, I met this girl, and found a new best friend. Her name is Casey, and she turned my few days in Madrid to the happiest, laughiest (is that a word?), full on food and drunk on wine-iest days of my whole trip. Homegirl is from San Francisco, and we’re basically soul twins, it’s amazing. So this post is going to be about how I love Casey and our little dates that we went on.
Date #1 – Wine in a pouch and pulpo
Date 2: Eating baby pig at “the oldest restaurant in the world”
This place claims it’s the oldest in the world, but I’m a skeptic. Regardless, eating baby pig was amazing.
Date #3- Churros con Chocolate con Paco Leon
We had churros con chocolate, a traditional Spanish dish, for breakfast 2 mornings in a row. And we don’t even feel bad about it.
This place had pictures all over the walls of famous people who had eaten churros there, including hotty mchotterson, Javier Bardem. However, I had this handsome gentleman staring at me all breakfast. America, meet Paco Leon.
Date #4 – All the best museums in Madrid
I only have 1 picture for this one, and it’s of butts, go figure. I’m so mature.
On Tuesday we went to the Prado Museum, and saw everything from ancient sculptures to a million different paintings of Jesus. We also took multiple wine and coffee breaks. Amazing. On Wednesday, we hit the free 2 hours at the Reina Sofia modern art museum, and hung out with Picasso, Dali, and Diego Rivera. Honestly, I was on such an awesome art high.
Date #5- Sit at a park, drink wine, and have a picnic
Date #6 – See all of the beautiful sights in Madrid and not care too much about “Que Significa?”
Obviously, I had a wonderful time, meeting this woman who shares similar viewpoints on life and love, the same taste in music and favorite flower, and many other things. I can’t wait to reunite in June in San Francisco!
