Crazy about Tulips

The only reason I went to Amsterdam was because I had some grandeur dreams of sunshine and me dancing around in a feild of flowers.  What I got instead were mostly rainy, cold, days, with a few spurts of sunshiney happiness.  Instead of dancing in a feild of tulips, I exclaimed with joy everytime I saw some in a city setting.  Not quite the same.  Oh well, life is tough all over 🙂

This is as close as I got to dancing in a feild of tulips... how sad.

During the cold times, I jumped from cafe to cafe…

Goat cheese, brie, and honey sandwich... heaven.

During the not rainy times, I walked the canals and went to my favorite place… Vondelpark.

And I ate Dutch pancakes covered in chocolate… surprise surprise!!

Stay tuned for my next post, which chronicles one of my favorite parts of this entire trip– the ferry (pre-detention).

  1. Oh, Amsterdam is quite often rainy and grey. You should’ve taken a day trip to the Keukenhof in Lisse. Beautiful place to see and frolic in tulips!
