Last week, Katie and I began a road trip journey of the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye. I was the driver, and since I’m here writing I clearly didn’t kill us by driving on the wrong side of the road. On the first day, we drove from north from Edinburgh towards Inverness by way of the A9 –>A86 –>A82. In Newtonmore, we stopped at a little cafe and had some chicken curry and chips. Katie claims this is the best curry she’s ever had.
From Newtonmore, we drove on a very sketchy single lane road (the first of many) and saw some amazing sights, like Loch Lochy and Loch Ness. Yes, I stopped and said “what up” to Nessie.
That night, we stayed in a really awesome accomodation…a wooden tent!
Apparently this is called “glamping.” The camping pod came with little mattresses, basically gym floor mats, with pillows and duvets, electricity, a heater, and WIFI! Wifi in the woods, I just couldn’t get over how amazing that was. Katie and I had so much fun hanging out, drinking cider, eating gummies, and dancing around to Daft Punk. I also had a a really great phone conversation with my mom about how Nessie might be a sturgeon. Now we know where I get my geek from.
